Ali Taha Koç
Dr. Ali Taha Koç was born in 1980 in Ankara. He graduated in 2001 from the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department of Bilkent University’s Faculty of Engineering, where he was admitted with a full scholarship. He completed his master’s and doctoral studies in the United States at the University of Texas at Dallas in the Electrical Engineering Department, also with a scholarship. In 2006, Dr. Ali Taha Koç began working as a research and development (R&D) engineer at Intel in the United States. During his tenure there, he developed 61 patents and published 23 articles in scientific journals. He led and managed numerous international projects at Intel. In 2013, he was recognized as one of the top 10 engineers in terms of patent production and awards.
After returning to Turkey in 2014, he started serving as a Chief Advisor to the Prime Minister and was appointed to the Presidency’s Information Technology Department in the same year. Simultaneously, he led the establishment of the Presidential State Information Coordination Center (DBKM), which ensures information flow from all ministries and security units. On September 12, 2018, he was appointed as the head of the Presidency’s Digital Transformation Office. In addition to his roles at the Presidency, he has also served as a board member of Türksat Satellite Communication Cable TV and Operations Inc. Furthermore, he teaches master’s and doctoral courses at Bilkent University’s Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Dr. Ali Taha Koç, who is a licensed pilot and fluent in English, is married and has one child.
