Erik Dahlman
Erik Dahlman joined Ericsson in 1993 and is currently Senior Expert in Radio Access Technologies within Ericsson Research. He has been involved in the development of wireless-communication technologies from early 3G via 4G LTE to 5G NR and its evolution. He is currently focusing on future wireless-communication technologies, including the more long-term 5G evolution and 6G wireless access. He is the co-author of multiple books on wireless communication, most recently, 5G/5G-Advanced – The New Generation Wireless Access Technology. He has received the “Major Technical Award”, an award handed out by the Swedish government, for his contributions to the technical and commercial success of 3G/HSPA and, in 2010, was part of the Ericsson team receiving the LTE World Summit award for “Best Contribution to LTE Standards”. He has also been nominated for the European Inventor Award, the most prestigious inventor award in Europe. In 2022 he was the second person ever to be awarded the Ericsson Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to the Ericsson success in wireless communication.
